Overseas Chinese Education Foundation (OCEF) will hold a charity party at Asian Cultural center on December 14^th (Wednesday) 7-10pm. OCEF is a 501 (C) non-profit organization dedicated for helping underprivileged children in Rural China stay in school.  The purpose of Wednesday's charity event is to let professionals on Wall Street know more about OCEF’s mission, operation mechanism, and its achievements in the last 13 years. This is the third charity event of OCEF in the New York area in the recent one year. 

This event will exhibit more than 80 pictures of OCEF funded children, schools constructed by OCEF and students’ letters. Through these pictures, OCEF would like to remind guests of the poor conditions of remote areas in China, the needy situation of children and their desire to stay in school. Also OCEF would like to demonstrate its effectiveness and achievements during the past years. 

This event is organized by OCEF’s local group in New York/New Jersey area. It is expected to be attended by more than 80 guests. Wine and light refreshments will be provided to the guests. Admission is free. If interested in attending, please register through http://www.ocef.org/nynj. 

Through OCEF, every $50 donation can pay one children’s one year schooling fee (up to 9th grade). Every $180 can help a senior high school student stay in school. In the past 13 years, relying purely on volunteer work, OCEF has helped children more than 10,000 times (by person and semester), built 6 schools, and established more than 70 mini libraries. The funded students and schools are distributed in about 20 provinces, with a focus on inland and remote mountain areas. 

OCEF is headquartered in Houston, and has operations in New York, Boston, Chicago, North California, Canada, Shanghai and Beijing.

12月14号晚上七点，海外中国教育基金会 (Overseas Chinese Education Foundation, OCEF) 将在位于曼哈顿的亚洲文化中心举行一个爱心图片展和以华尔街专业人士为主的慈善社交活动。这是OCEF在过去1年中在纽约地区的第三次募捐活动。这次图片展的主要目的是让华尔街的专业人士来关注中国失学儿童，来了解OCEF的目的，运转机制和13年来的成就。

这次展览的80多张图片选自OCEF义工在中国贫困农村地区执行监察工作，探访受资助儿童时拍摄的照片。此次图片展将向来宾介绍了受资助地区的贫困状况、受助学生及他们家庭和受助学校的基本情况，以及受OCEF资助的学校的变化和爱心捐款为一个贫困失学的儿童带来的希望和帮助。该活动还将展出部分受助儿童的信件。这些信件充分表达了贫困儿童虽面临困境但仍然刻苦学习的决心，和他们对捐款人的深深谢意。

海外中国教育基金会，成立于1992年（始为中国教育教援基金会SOSCEF，后改为OCEF）， 是联邦注册的501(c)(3)非盈利慈善组织。其唯一使命是帮助中国贫困地区的基础教育事业。在OCEF,捐款人每捐款50美元，就可以支持一名贫困小学初中儿童一年的教育费用，每捐款180美元，就可以支持一名贫困高中或技校学生一年的学校费用。在过去13年里，OCEF完全依靠不收任何报酬的义工运转，帮助了中国农村贫困儿童上万人次（按学期记），修建或改建了6所学校，建立了七十多个图书室。这些学生和学校分布于中国二十多个省份，尤其是内陆和偏远山区。OCEF的总部设在休斯顿，并在纽约，波士顿，芝加哥，北加州，加拿大，上海和北京等地设有义工组。
